Original: « … dockworkers are shutting down trade for Gaza: across more than 100 ports, 22 countries and 5 continents… » 🔗 · ht
Dockworkers in more than 100 ports across 22 countries on five continents are reportedly refusing to handle cargo in protest at the war in Gaza, disrupting trade routes. The action is being promoted under slogans such as 'dockworkers don't work for war' and demands for a ceasefire, drawing attention to organised labour's role in the pro-Palestine movement.
Why now: A coordinated port worker blockade over Gaza is a rare, globally scaled labour action with direct economic impact.
