Russia Claims Destroying More Ukrainian Jets Than Ukraine Ever Had
Original: Russia Claims 674 Ukrainian Aircraft Destroyed. Ukraine Had 212 Total.
Russian defence officials claim 674 Ukrainian aircraft have been destroyed since the start of the war, a figure that exceeds Ukraine's entire pre-war air force of roughly 212 aircraft. The discrepancy has drawn attention from analysts, who note the claim cannot be accurate as stated, likely counting decoys, drones, damaged planes or repeat hits.
Why now: The claim is mathematically impossible, making it a striking example of wartime propaganda and inflated battlefield numbers.
