A writer has published a Patreon review of a Halloween-night production of Macbeth in Bendigo, Victoria. The staging leaned into the play's witches and ghost, and was set inside the grim former HM Prison Bendigo building. The pairing of Shakespeare's darkest tragedy with the forbidding old gaol and the spooky date is drawing warm nods from readers.
Why now: The unusual setting of the tragedy in a former prison on Halloween made for a striking theatrical event worth sharing.

- New at my Patreon... I've just visited Bendigo on the night of Halloween, to see a production of Macbeth - a good fit with its prominent witches and ghost. Another good fit was its setting, the grim edifice once known as HM Prison Bendigo: https://www.… · timrichards@aus.social · 7
