Northern Lights light up UK skies again
Original: aurora borealis
The aurora borealis has been visible across parts of Britain, with photographers capturing pink-hued displays over the Isle of Wight and other areas. The Met Office has issued an update on possible further sightings on Sunday, and forecasters say solar activity could bring another showing after a striking display around Halloween.
Why now: Recent unusually strong solar activity made the aurora visible far further south than usual across the UK, prompting widespread photos and forecasts of more displays.
