Google to Cut Off Search for Schools Banning A.I.
Original: Google Will Turn Off Search for Schools That Reject A.I.
Google is making it easier for schools to restrict its A.I. tools for students, but with a hard edge: schools that block A.I. entirely will lose student access to Google Search altogether. The New York Times reports the policy effectively forces schools to accept some A.I. presence in classrooms, drawing attention from educators and commentators over the choice between adopting the tools or losing a core research service.
Why now: The story is trending because schools worldwide are deciding how to handle student A.I. use, and Google's ultimatum raises fresh concerns about corporate pressure on education.
