NMB48 members promote New Year's postcards in Kyoto

Original: 年賀はがき

Members of the idol group NMB48, dressed in furisode kimono, appeared in Kyoto to promote nenga hagaki, Japan's New Year's greeting postcards, according to the Yomiuri Shimbun. A maiko joined the event, offering the traditional greeting. The promotion comes as the year-end season begins, when people across Japan prepare to send New Year's cards to family and friends.

Why now: New Year's greeting postcards go on sale around this time of year, drawing seasonal attention in Japan
