UNEP Ministerial Pushes to Turn Methane Data into Action
Original: UNEP’s IMEO Ministerial: Turning Methane Data into Action | UNEP - UN Environment Programme
The UN Environment Programme held a ministerial meeting through its International Methane Emissions Observatory focused on converting methane emissions data into concrete policy action. The event brought together governments to discuss how better measurement and reporting of methane leaks can drive reductions in one of the most potent greenhouse gases, a key lever for slowing near-term climate change.
Why now: Methane reduction is a growing priority in global climate negotiations, and ministers are being pressed to act on emissions data.
