A 'Verity' meme is outshining the 'Verity' movie
Original: A ‘Verity’ meme is outshining the ‘Verity’ movie. They have nothing to do with each other.
The upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's thriller 'Verity' is being overshadowed online by an unrelated meme that happens to share its name. The joke has nothing to do with the movie, yet it is spreading more widely than discussion of the film itself, creating confusion and amused overlap between the two audiences as the movie's release approaches.
Why now: The coincidence of an unrelated meme sharing the film's name is amusing people and generating viral attention ahead of the movie's release.
