A 'Verity' meme is outshining the 'Verity' movie
Original: A ‘Verity’ meme is outshining the ‘Verity’ movie. They have nothing to do with each other.
A viral meme called 'Verity' is spreading widely online at the same time as the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel 'Verity' reaches audiences, despite the two having no connection. Reports note the meme is drawing more attention than the movie itself, creating confusion among people encountering both. Commenters are highlighting the coincidence of identical names dominating conversation in different corners of the internet.
Why now: The coincidence of an unrelated viral meme sharing a name with a high-profile film release is amusing and confusing audiences.
