Original: Rubio orders visiting Iranian UN delegation to leave NYC ahead of schedule

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ordered the visiting Iranian delegation to the United Nations in New York to leave ahead of schedule. The move, reported by ABC News, AP and other outlets, marks an unusual restriction on a diplomatic mission accredited to the UN headquarters, and comes amid already tense relations between Washington and Tehran.

Why now: Restricting a UN-accredited Iranian delegation is a rare and escalatory diplomatic step amid US-Iran tensions.
