Alcaras advances in Tokyo, speaks out on Grand Slam format
Original: карлос алькарас
Carlos Alcaraz has reached the second round of the tennis tournament in Tokyo, while Taylor Fritz and Casper Ruud were knocked out. Separately, Alcaraz criticised the proposed reduction of Grand Slam matches to three sets, arguing that such a change would damage the sport's heritage. Meanwhile Daniil Medvedev, who rose in the ATP rankings, said he would prefer the best-of-three format and that the decision is up to others.
Why now: Alcaraz's win in Tokyo and his comments on the possible Grand Slam format change are drawing attention from tennis fans.
