Neon to produce a fully open-source SCP film after A24 backlash
Original: Neon Will Make A Truly Open-Source SCP Movie After A24 Controversy
Film studio Neon has announced it will produce an SCP movie under the collaborative fiction project's open Creative Commons licensing, following criticism of A24's SCP-related project. Fans accused A24 of mishandling the community-driven horror universe's license terms, sparking debate over how studios should treat open-source creative works. Neon says its film will comply fully with the SCP Foundation's sharing requirements.
Why now: Frustration over A24's handling of the SCP community's open license has made fans highly attentive to how studios adapt the property.
