Neon to Produce Fully Open-Source SCP Film After A24 Dispute
Original: Neon Will Make A Truly Open-Source SCP Movie After A24 Controversy
Neon has announced it will produce an SCP film under a truly open-source model, following controversy surrounding A24's handling of an SCP adaptation. The SCP Foundation is a collaborative fiction project whose community-licensed stories depend on open attribution terms. Filmmakers and fans are watching closely to see how Neon's approach honors the project's Creative Commons licensing and the community that created the material.
Why now: A24's controversial SCP project sparked debate over respecting the collaborative fiction's open licensing, and Neon's announcement directly answers that concern.
