Leaked Video Claims Cops Can Bypass iPhone Reboot Lock
Original: Cops Can Bypass iPhone’s Automatic Reboot to Get Into Locked Phones, Leaked Video Claims
A leaked video suggests GrayKey, the phone unlocking tool made by forensics firm Magnet Forensics, can bypass an iPhone security feature that automatically reboots locked devices, which had been keeping police from extracting data. The claim, reported by 404 Media, raises fresh concerns about Apple's cat-and-mouse battle with law enforcement over access to seized iPhones.
Why now: The leak suggests Apple's latest privacy protection against police data extraction may have been defeated.
