Starlink Community Sites May Offer Hourly and Weekly Internet Passes
Original: Starlink 'Community Site' Program Teases Hourly, Weekly Internet Passes
SpaceX's Starlink is teasing a new 'Community Site' program that would let users buy internet access for short periods, with hourly and weekly passes instead of a monthly subscription. The plan suggests Wi-Fi hotspot-style access points where people could pay only for the connectivity they need. Details on pricing, locations and launch timing have not been announced.
Why now: Short-term passes would make satellite internet accessible to occasional users and travelers, which is a notable shift from Starlink's subscription model.
