Rep. McIver joins rare group who have given birth in Congress
Representative McIver has given birth while serving in Congress, joining a very small group of members who have done so. The milestone is drawing attention to how rare childbirth remains among sitting lawmakers and to the pressures new parents face in Congress, where parental leave policies and family accommodations are limited and still a matter of debate.
