Senior UAE official calls flydubai plane attack an 'act of terrorism'
Original: In first, senior UAE official calls flydubai plane attack an ‘act of terrorism’
A senior United Arab Emirates official has, for the first time, described an attack on a flydubai aircraft as an 'act of terrorism'. The statement marks a significant escalation in how the Gulf state is characterising the incident. Details about the attack itself, including casualties or responsibility, remain limited, and officials have not specified what evidence prompted the terrorism designation.
Why now: The senior official's explicit terrorism designation is new, prompting attention to how the UAE is responding to the attack.
