World of Warcraft's Low-Polygon Prairie Dog Gets Affectionate Praise
Original: In Praise Of World Of Warcraft's God-Awful Polygonal Prairie Dog
A Kotaku piece celebrates one of World of Warcraft's crudely modelled prairie dogs, arguing the game's old, blocky creature models have a charm of their own. The article highlights how the long-running MMO's dated low-polygon animals have become endearing to players, even as the game's graphics continue to evolve with newer expansions and updated character and environment art.
Why now: Players are nostalgic about World of Warcraft's dated old models and enjoy affectionate mockery of them.
