A maker is showing off Archimedes, a robot owl build in which the eyes were made from moonstones that double as backlit LED diffusers. The stones look striking in normal light and scatter the LED glow beautifully when lit. The full project, documented on Hackster.io, is drawing fresh attention as the builder revisits the 2021 design and shares more details about the familiar.

Why now: The builder is revisiting and sharing a striking robot owl project whose natural-stone eyes caught people's attention.
