Megapoll finds half of UK wants to rejoin EU
Original: Half of UK wants to rejoin EU and backing it could drive up Labour vote, megapoll finds
A large-scale poll reported by the Guardian suggests around half of UK voters now want to rejoin the European Union, years after Brexit. The survey also indicates that explicitly backing rejoin could increase Labour's vote, presenting both an opportunity and a dilemma for the party as it weighs how far to lean into the issue.
Why now: The poll's finding that backing rejoin could boost Labour's vote puts fresh pressure on the party's Brexit stance.
