Search Underway for Missing Medical Plane Off Nantucket

Original: aircraft

A medical transport aircraft flying from Bermuda to Boston declared an emergency before losing contact off Nantucket, prompting a US Coast Guard search for the six people aboard. Reports quote air traffic control asking the crew, 'You're coming in blind?' Separately, authorities in the UAE say a FlyDubai co-pilot used a crash ax in an attack on the flight deck, and investigators found terrorist imagery on the suspect's social media after passengers and crew averted disaster.

Why now: Two alarming aviation incidents involving an in-flight emergency and a violent attack on a commercial flight are dominating coverage.
