Israel-bound flight diverted to Saudi Arabia after violent incident
Original: Israel-bound flight diverted to Saudi Arabia after ‘violent incident’
A flight heading to Israel was diverted to Saudi Arabia following what authorities described as a violent incident on board. The unusual diversion has drawn wide attention given the absence of direct flight links and strained relations between the two countries, with news outlets reporting details of the incident as they emerge.
Why now: The rare diversion of an Israel-bound flight into Saudi Arabia amid a reported violent onboard incident is highly unusual and newsworthy.
