Colorado Bears Feast on Porch Pumpkins, Wildlife Officials Warn

Original: Colorado’s bears are feasting on porch pumpkins this fall, CPW warns

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is warning residents that black bears are raiding porches to eat decorative pumpkins and other autumn displays this fall. Officials are urging people to bring pumpkins inside overnight, keep trash secured and remove bird feeders, as bears fattening up before hibernation are drawn into neighborhoods by easy food sources across the state.

Why now: It is fall, bears are actively seeking calories before hibernation, and officials are issuing seasonal warnings to homeowners.
