Peace vigil held at RAF Lakenheath by anti-nuclear alliance
Original: Lakenheath Alliance for Peace vigil
The Lakenheath Alliance for Peace, backed by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, held a vigil at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. The group has long campaigned against the presence of US nuclear weapons at the base, and vigils there typically mark anniversaries such as the Hiroshima bombing or protest the suspected return of American nuclear bombs to the site.
Why now: The vigil drew attention amid ongoing concerns about US nuclear weapons reportedly returning to RAF Lakenheath.
