A German-language hashtag prompt, PhantastikPrompts, asks participants whether they have an author as a role model. One respondent, fantasy author Anja Weinhold, says she has no direct model, citing the masters of dark romanticism such as Poe, Shelley, Stoker and Lovecraft, plus living authors Sergei Lukianenko and Dmitry Glukhovsky, as her strongest influences.

Why now: The prompt is circulating among German-speaking fantasy fans and writers who are sharing their literary influences.
