Ethiopia's drone fleet spans five countries amid Orion questions
Original: Ethiopia Collects "Drone Royal Flush" From Five Countries, But russian Orion May Actually Be Homegrown Negash
Ethiopia has assembled a diverse drone arsenal drawn from five different countries, described as a "drone royal flush." Analysts also raise questions about a Russian-made Orion drone reportedly in the fleet, suggesting it may in fact be Ethiopia's homegrown Negash drone instead. The claims highlight growing uncertainty over the origins of Ethiopia's rapidly expanding unmanned aircraft capabilities.
Why now: Fresh analysis questioning whether a drone in Ethiopia's fleet is Russian-made or a domestic Negash design has drawn attention to the country's expanding drone programme.
