Claim that only 5,000 elite software engineers exist sparks debate
Original: There are only 5,000 elite software engineers in the world (2025)
A blog post by Jared Palmer argues that only about 5,000 truly elite software engineers exist worldwide in 2025. Why now: The provocative, hard-to-verify claim about the size of the elite engineering talent pool is fueling argument among developers.
