A Louisiana immigration facility is set to hold families and minors who choose to self-deport, according to local reporting. Details on capacity, conditions, and when the arrangement will begin have not been made clear in the initial report.
Why now: The policy of detaining families and children who voluntarily agree to leave is a new and controversial development in US immigration enforcement.
