Eva Marie Saint, Oscar-Winning 'North by Northwest' Star, Dies at 102

Original: » Eva Marie Saint, Oscar Winner, Dead at 102 BECAUSE THANKS TO HER # LABOR # UNION ― # SAGAFTRA ― SHE HAD HEALTH INSURAN

Actress Eva Marie Saint, who won an Academy Award for 'On the Waterfront' and starred in 'North by Northwest', has died at 102. Alongside tributes to her career, commenters are highlighting that she retained health insurance into old age through SAG-AFTRA, her actors' union, in a country without universal health care — turning her death into a broader point about the value of unions and Medicare for All.

Why now: Her death at a very advanced age is news in itself, but posts are using it to argue for unions and universal health care in the US.
