Original: "Robot" Is A Social Construct: Why Your Dishwasher Is Not A Robot https://robotgirlgang.com/2026/10/08/robot-is-a-social
A new essay argues that 'robot' is less a technical category than a social construct, explaining why household machines like dishwashers are not considered robots despite performing automated work. Why now: The argument challenges everyday assumptions about what counts as a robot, sparking debate among robotics and tech communities.
