Fans Slam Skinny Carrie Miniseries Adaptation
Original: WE DON’T NEED ANOTHER SKINNY CARRIE…(a book versus tv show rant bc what was that miniseries)
Viewers are pushing back against a recent Carrie miniseries, arguing the television adaptation reshaped Stephen King's protagonist into a slimmer, more conventional figure and stripped away what made the book's heroine resonate. Critics of the show say it recasts Carrie as another 'skinny Carrie' rather than the bullied, overweight outsider at the heart of King's novel, and they want adaptations to stay truer to the source material.
Why now: A new miniseries adaptation of Carrie is drawing criticism for changing the lead character's body and characterisation from the book.
