Experts question Zelensky's claim about Russian bots
Original: Experts doubt Zelensky's bot claim
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that Russia is using bots to influence discourse, but analysts and researchers are publicly expressing doubt about the assertion. Commentators argue the evidence presented does not clearly support the scale of bot activity alleged, and some accuse the government of overstating foreign interference to explain domestic criticism. The dispute has fueled wider debate about how wartime governments assess and communicate online influence operations.
Why now: The public disagreement between a wartime leader and independent analysts over disinformation claims is drawing attention amid ongoing debate about online influence in the Russia-Ukraine war.
