Tesla Says It Cannot Guarantee Roadster Reservations Will Get Cars
Original: Tesla 'Cannot Guarantee' Roadster Reservation Holders Will Ever Get a Car
Tesla has indicated it cannot guarantee that people who paid reservations for the long-delayed second-generation Roadster will ever receive the car. The sports car was unveiled in 2017 with deliveries promised for 2020, but it has repeatedly slipped as the company prioritised other models. Reservation holders, many of whom paid deposits years ago, are questioning whether the vehicle will ever reach production.
Why now: Tesla's admission that deposits may never result in a car has frustrated long-waiting Roadster reservation holders.
