Tesla Cannot Guarantee Roadster Reservation Holders Will Ever Get a Car
Original: Tesla 'Cannot Guarantee' Roadster Reservation Holders Will Ever Get a Car
Tesla has indicated it cannot guarantee that people who placed reservations for the long-delayed second-generation Roadster will ever actually receive the car. The sports car was unveiled in 2017 with deliveries repeatedly pushed back, and reservation holders have paid deposits while waiting years with no firm production timeline. The statement raises questions about whether the Roadster will ever reach production at all.
Why now: Reservation holders and Tesla watchers are reacting to the company's admission that years-old deposits may never result in a delivered vehicle.
