Developer launches CallSitter, a bot that wastes scammers' time
Original: Show HN: CallSitter – bot that answers my calls and wastes scammers' time
A developer has released CallSitter, an open-source tool that automatically answers phone calls and keeps phone scammers occupied, wasting their time instead of the user's. The project, shared with the Hacker News community and hosted on GitHub, is drawing attention from people frustrated with spam and scam calls who are curious about how well automated call-handling works in practice.
Why now: Widespread frustration with scam and robocalls makes an anti-scammer bot immediately appealing to discuss.
