Discord to make public server messages searchable on Google
Original: Discord will soon let anyone find public server messages through Google
Discord has announced that messages from public, Discoverable servers will soon be indexed and findable through Google search. The change means conversations previously confined to the app could surface in general web results, raising questions among users about privacy and how much of a community's chat history becomes publicly visible once indexing begins.
Why now: Users are surprised and concerned that conversations once seen as semi-private will become openly searchable on the web.
