Ukraine Says It Now Intercepts 60% of Russian Geran-4 Drones
Original: Ukraine Boosts Interceptions of Russian Geran-4 Drones to 60% Average
Ukraine reports that its air defenses are now shooting down an average of 60% of Russian Geran-4 attack drones. The figure marks an improvement in interception rates against the Iranian-designed loitering munitions Russia has used extensively in strikes on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. Officials have repeatedly urged Western partners for more air defense systems to raise the share further, as drone and missile attacks continue nightly across the country.
Why now: The improved interception rate signals progress in Ukraine's air defense campaign at a time when Russian drone attacks remain intense.
