Ukraine Says It Now Intercepts 60% of Russian Geran-4 Drones
Original: Ukraine Boosts Interceptions of Russian Geran-4 Drones to 60% Average
Ukraine's air defence forces are reportedly downing an average of 60% of Russian Geran-4 attack drones, an improvement in interception rates against the loitering munitions Moscow has used heavily in strikes on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. Officials have pressed allies for more air defence systems and ammunition to push the rate higher, as Russian forces continue mass drone launches alongside missile attacks.
Why now: Rising Russian drone attacks and ongoing debates over Western air defence support keep interception rates in the news.
