Ukraine Says It Now Intercepts 60% of Russian Geran-4 Drones
Original: Ukraine Boosts Interceptions of Russian Geran-4 Drones to 60% Average
Ukraine's air defences are now stopping an average of 60% of Russian Geran-4 drones, according to the reported figures. The Geran-4, a Russian variant of the Iranian-designed Shahed loitering munition, has been used in large-scale overnight strikes against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. The improved interception rate points to better radar coverage, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare as Ukraine adapts to the drone campaign.
Why now: Drone strike effectiveness and air defence performance are central to the current phase of the war and closely tracked by observers.
