Dockworkers in 22 Countries Launch Coordinated Port Strikes Over Gaza
Original: With 'Largest Coordinated Port Action Ever,' # Dockworkers in 22 Countries Strike Against # Gaza # Genocide | Common Dre
Dockworkers across 22 countries have launched what organizers call the largest coordinated port action ever, refusing to handle cargo in protest against Israel's war in Gaza, which they describe as genocide. Organizers say port workers are leveraging their strategic position, noting that without their labor, containers sit still and ships go unloaded. The strikes reflect growing labor movement involvement in pro-Palestinian activism worldwide.
Why now: It is an unprecedented coordinated labor action tying union power to the Gaza conflict, drawing international attention.
