Karpathy Launches HackerTube, a Hacker News-Powered Video Feed
Original: HackerTube: YouTube built from videos recommended by HN
Andrej Karpathy has launched HackerTube, a video site built from videos recommended on Hacker News. The project reassembles YouTube-style viewing around links the Hacker News community upvotes, rather than an algorithmic recommendation engine. It was shared on Hacker News itself, where it quickly rose to the top of the site and drew well over a thousand engagements.
Why now: A high-profile AI researcher released a novel alternative to YouTube's recommendations, and it immediately went viral on Hacker News.
