USDA tightens rules on solar grants for farmers
Original: The USDA just made it way harder for # farmers to get # solar | Canary Media https://www. canarymedia.com/articles/food-
The USDA has changed its REAP grant program in ways that make it much harder for American farmers to fund solar installations, according to Canary Media. The move is drawing criticism from renewable energy advocates, who say it undermines rural clean energy projects and contradicts federal support for farm-based solar, and it has sparked discussion in energy and climate circles.
Why now: New USDA restrictions on rural solar funding are seen as a setback for renewable energy in farm country.
