Original: The USDA just made it way harder for # farmers to get # solar | Canary Media https://www. canarymedia.com/articles/food-
The US Department of Agriculture has reportedly changed the rules of its Rural Energy for America Program in a way that makes it much harder for farmers to secure grants for solar installations, according to Canary Media. Clean-energy advocates are sharing the report widely, warning the move will slow the adoption of renewable energy on farms and undercut rural investment in solar power.
Why now: The USDA's policy change directly affects farmers' ability to fund solar projects, raising concerns among clean-energy and rural communities.
