Original: The USDA just made it way harder for # farmers to get # solar | Canary Media https://www. canarymedia.com/articles/food-
The US Department of Agriculture has changed the rules of its Rural Energy for America Program, making it significantly harder for farmers to obtain grants for solar installations. Canary Media reports that the new requirements reduce access to funding that many rural farms relied on to add renewable energy. Clean energy advocates are criticizing the move as a setback for rural solar adoption.
Why now: New USDA restrictions on REAP solar grants are drawing criticism from the clean energy and farming communities.
