The killing of Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero has intensified scrutiny of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Maine. The Guardian-style coverage reports that ICE has adopted a quieter, more secretive approach under the Trump administration's immigration crackdown, prompting immigration watch groups to shift tactics and find new, creative ways to track and document federal enforcement activity.
Why now: A fatal ICE operation reported as more secretive has alarmed immigration watchers, who are adapting how they monitor enforcement.
