ICC delays World Club Championship plans after Big Three objections
Original: ICC delays plans for World Club Championship after ‘Big Three’ object
The International Cricket Council has pushed back plans for a proposed World Club Championship after opposition from cricket's 'Big Three' nations — India, Australia and England. The competition, intended to bring club-style franchise teams into a global event, now faces uncertainty over its format and timeline as board members weigh the objections raised during discussions.
Why now: Cricket's most powerful boards flexing their influence over a new global competition is a major talking point for fans and administrators.
