ICC delays World Club Championship after Big Three objection
Original: ICC delays plans for World Club Championship after ‘Big Three’ object
The International Cricket Council has postponed plans for a proposed World Club Championship after opposition from cricket's 'Big Three' nations — India, Australia and England. The delay puts the future of the global club competition in doubt, with administrators now needing to address concerns from the sport's most influential boards before plans can move forward.
Why now: The ICC's decision to shelve a major new competition because of resistance from its most powerful members is significant news for the future structure of international and club cricket.
