ICC delays World Club Championship after Big Three objection
Original: ICC delays plans for World Club Championship after ‘Big Three’ object
The International Cricket Council has pushed back plans for a proposed World Club Championship after opposition from cricket's so-called 'Big Three' nations — India, England and Australia. The delay signals continuing tension within the ICC over the competition's format, revenue and scheduling, with the board unable to move forward without the support of its most influential members.
Why now: Cricket's governing body has put a major new competition on hold because its most powerful members objected.
