Musk says he will give a SpaceX share to every American child
Original: I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America
Elon Musk has stated that he will give one share of SpaceX to every child in America. The pledge, made in a short public statement, has drawn attention because of its scale and ambiguity: SpaceX is privately held, so the practical mechanics of distributing shares to millions of minors, and the value they would carry, are unclear.
Why now: The promise comes from one of the world's most prominent billionaires and involves SpaceX, so people are debating whether it is serious and how it could actually work.
