Boston Dynamics employees protest ICE robot dog purchase

Original: ICE plan to buy robot dogs spurs protest from Boston Dynamics employees

Employees at Boston Dynamics are protesting plans by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement to buy the company's robotic dogs, according to Ars Technica. Workers want to block the sale, arguing the quadruped robots should not be used for immigration enforcement. The dispute highlights ongoing tension over whether defense or security agencies should have access to the firm's robots.

Why now: The open letter or protest from employees directly challenges a high-profile government purchase, drawing attention to the ethics of robotics in law enforcement.
